Job summary

Southeastern-Surveying- in Jacksonville seeks a field crew helper to assist with surveying tasks and equipment maintenance, supporting the Crew Chief on busy projects.

You will load gear, set up backsights, measure with tape, drive stakes, and help keep safety procedures. Travel, overtime, and PPE compliance are required. This role offers hands-on training and team collaboration to grow in the surveying field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must be able to obtain required site badges and certifications to enter active work sites.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and outdoors; willingness to travel to field locations as needed.
• Team-oriented with good communication and willingness to take instruction and feedback.
• Willingness to work overtime and maintain punctuality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field surveying activities and maintenance of survey equipment.
• Load and unload survey gear from work vehicles and ensure equipment on site.
• Set up backsights and foresights; establish points, tape, chain and level for field surveys.
• Take measurements with tape measure and record data accurately.
• Drive rebar, stakes and hubs into the ground as required by surveys.
• Maintain safety equipment and flag traffic when necessary; follow all safety guidelines.
• May provide light office support such as filing or scanning when needed.
