Job summary

Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation is seeking a Field Technician to assist with on-site surveying, equipment maintenance, and data collection used for plans and reports.

You'll load gear, set up instruments, perform measurements, and support the party chief. The role requires travel to field sites, ability to work in various weather conditions, and adherence to safety and PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of survey experience preferred.
• Must obtain badges/certifications to enter sites (e.g., MOT, Duke Energy).
• Must be able to operate GPS, RTK, robotic and traditional total stations.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional surveying equipment and collect survey data.
• Load and unload survey equipment for daily tasks.
• Set up backsights and foresights; perform axis tests.
• Maintain instruments and ensure daily charging.
• Assist party chief with field notes and safety procedures.
• Work out of town and travel to remote field locations as needed.
