Job summary

Stantec in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a Chainman/Survey Assistant to join our Community Development group. You will perform land surveying, mapping and data collection activities under supervision to support project objectives.

The role involves operating surveying instruments (levels, GPS, total stations), transferring data to the network, and assisting with AutoCAD/GIS drawings. Field teamwork and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with surveying tasks and data collection on field projects.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs surveying assignments, taking accurate measurements and collecting data on land features.
• Operates and maintains surveying instruments including levels, GPS equipment and data collectors.
• Transfers survey data to the proper files in the computer network and acquires data for field use.
• Loads vehicles with tools and equipment, ensuring materials are loaded correctly.
• Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• May assist in preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD or GIS software.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
