Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Plano, TX is seeking a field surveying support role to assist a Senior Surveyor with surveying, mapping and data collection activities.

This role focuses on gathering land data and ensuring accuracy in a team environment. You will collect boundary data, help transfer survey data into the proper files, and operate survey instruments while maintaining safe, efficient field practices in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required; technical degree/certificate is an asset.
• 0–2 years of Land Surveying experience is preferred.
• Basic surveying knowledge and ability to work in a team.
• Strong communication and mathematical skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Use basic knowledge of general field survey concepts.
• Collect data on land shape, contours, location, elevation and dimensions.
• Assist in transferring survey data to proper files in the network.
• Operate and maintain survey instruments and measuring devices.
• Perform tasks like setting stakes and clearing line of survey areas.
• Maintain survey equipment and vehicle; ensure safe operation of tools.
