Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking a motivated land surveyor with 3+ years of experience to compile and compute boundaries from deeds and plats, prepare survey base maps from field points, and compute stakeouts for distribution power line routes and easements.

You will operate robotic total stations, GPS and data collectors, perform construction layout, follow safety policies, and work outdoors up to 100% of the time. A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma.
• 3+ years of land surveying experience.
• Experience with land record research.
• Carlson/AutoCAD experience a plus.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
• Must pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Surveys consist of, boundary, existing conditions, and construction layout.
• Operate survey instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment.
• Adhere to company safety policies along with use of supplied personal protective equipment, (PPE)
• Interpret construction plans, and perform construction layout
• Ability to work outside up to 100% of the time
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Required to remain standing for extended periods and walk long distances
• Minor maintenance of all field survey equipment
• Act as a positive representative of the company and its core values
• Perform other duties as assigned
