Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Land Survey Crew Chief to lead field surveys including topographic, boundary, subdivision, ALTA, and layout tasks. Work is 95% outdoors, with exposure to traffic, sun and equipment, and meeting client expectations.

You will train crew, oversee equipment, take notes, read plans, ensure safety and PPE, and represent the company with integrity. Requires 3–5 years as SUE Crew Leader, High School Diploma, valid driver’s license, and ability to lift up

Qualifications

• Prefer 3 to 5 years of experience as SUE Crew Leader.
• Be an effective communicator with the crew and clients.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Able to lift equipment/material weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Understanding the types of surveys and purposes: topographic, boundary, subdivision, ALTA, construction layout, and as-built.
• Collect quality survey data.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of survey equipment.
• Operate survey instruments including level and robotic total stations with data collectors.
• Take accurate notes and perform note reduction.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Train crew members in equipment use and field techniques.
• Adhere to safety policies and use PPE.
• Be a positive representative of the company.
