Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time Survey Administrators for a school-based computerized study. The role involves traveling to schools, in-person participant contact, and coordinating with school staff to schedule surveys.

The program supports about 20 hours per week during data collection (Nov 2026–June 2027), with most work in weekdays and daytime hours, including possible overnight travel. RTI is a nonprofit research organization striving to improve youth well-being through the YRBS.

Qualifications

• Effective communication through speaking and listening.
• Fluency in English reading, writing and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Able to complete training successfully.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and own vehicle for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet and laptop.
• Access to password-protected WiFi for data transmission.
• Able to keep project information confidential.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and after dark.
• Willingness to drive up to 3 hours from home to schools; overnight stays may be required.
• Ability to follow SOPs and guidelines and work early mornings during survey dates.

Responsibilities

• Travel frequently to selected locations to administer surveys or assessments.
• Make in-person contact with respondents to discuss the study and obtain participation.
• Prompt school staff by email and phone for missing data collection information.
• Host meetings with school staff to assess survey readiness and logistics.
• Track parental consent and student eligibility to ensure participation.
• Manage administrative duties and complete online trainings.
• Safeguard and care for project equipment.
• Submit timely Time and Expense reports.
• Attend virtual meetings with the project team.
• Field trips may involve standing, walking, and carrying equipment weighing 15 pounds or more.
