GCW Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Party Chief to organize and lead a field survey crew in Reno, NV. The role focuses on construction staking, topographic maps, and ALTA/NSPS records, ensuring accurate data collection and safe field operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing crew activities, performing calculations, researching project details, and coordinating equipment. On-site work and US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in data collection techniques and field notes.
• Knowledge of Total Stations and robotic instruments.
• Familiar with Trimble GPS data collection software.
• LSIT certification or ability to sit the LSIT exam preferred.
• High school diploma or GED; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages and oversees a survey crew and all operations for the crew.
• Prepares and verifies calculations related to surveying; computes distances, bearings, traverses, elevations.
• Conducts project research, secures equipment, and handles data collection.
• Performs construction staking to mark precise locations per plans.
• Reads construction plans and topographic maps; produces final survey records.
• Operates and maintains survey instruments; ensures equipment is clean and ready daily.
• Maintains neat field notes for leveling, traversing, mapping, and surveys.
