Job summary

Westlake Consultants in Boise, Idaho seeks a Survey Instrument Person/Field Technician to support land surveys and mapping projects by collecting accurate field data using survey instruments and equipment.

You will operate total stations, GPS units, and levels, document data, and collaborate with surveyors while following safety protocols to ensure precise measurements across field activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in land surveying or a related field.
• Experience with field data collection and survey equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain survey instruments and equipment (total stations, GPS units, levels).
• Assist surveyors in field surveys and mapping projects; ensure accurate data collection.
• Record and manage survey data and documentation for analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient survey operations.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe field environment.
• Communicate progress and findings to project managers and stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve survey equipment and data collection issues.
