Job summary

Kuo & Associates in Houston, TX is seeking a Survey Field Instrument Man to support land surveying projects by operating field equipment, collecting precise data, and aiding the survey crew. You will work outdoors with total stations, GPS, levels, and prism poles to capture accurate measurements while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of surveying experience, a HS diploma or GED, and the stamina to perform manual fieldwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 years surveying experience preferred.
• Proficient in operating total stations, GPS, levels, and prism poles.
• Outdoor fieldwork ability in varying weather and terrain.
• Ability to read maps and survey plans and record measurements accurately.
• Physical endurance for lifting and setting up equipment.
• Attention to detail, good teamwork and clear communication.
• Valid driver’s license; OSHA training or LSIT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Setup & Transport: Load, transport, and set up survey gear such as levels and prisms.
• Marking & Measuring: Record locations and elevations accurately.
• Survey Assistance: Support party chief by holding prism poles and assisting field tasks.
• Data Collection: Gather terrain measurements for mapping and analysis.
• Safety Compliance: Follow site safety procedures and communicate with the team.
• Additional Duties: Perform other survey field tasks as needed.
