Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Dothan, AL is seeking a Field Survey Technician to support field crews with surveying tasks, data collection, and instrument maintenance. You will work under the party chief, load equipment, set up backsights, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of survey experience, are willing to travel, and can obtain necessary badges for site access. This is a full-time, on-site role with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of survey experience as Rodman or Instrument Man, or equivalent role.
• Must obtain badges/certifications necessary to enter sites (e.g., MOT, Duke Energy, CSX, DOD).

Responsibilities

• Receive training on surveying from the party chief.
• Load and unload survey equipment to/from work vehicles.
• Set up backsights and foresights.
• Operate survey instruments and ensure they are charged daily.
• Maintain and operate survey-grade instruments.
• Assist in field notes and data collection.
• Assist crew chief with field tasks and safety procedures.
