Job summary

R. Joe Harris & Associates, Inc. seeks a dependable Survey Instrument Operator to support field operations and ensure accuracy in survey deliverables. You will work closely with survey crew chiefs, office staff, and clients to gather data and prepare documentation.

The role involves assisting with topographic, boundary, location/design surveys, and staking, while operating total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors. Teamwork and outdoor work adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of land surveying principles.
• Familiarity with GPS receivers, total stations, and robotic total stations.
• Experience with Trimble and Carlson data collectors preferred.
• Strong math skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field surveys including topographic, boundary, and location/design surveys.
• Support construction staking and as-built surveys.
• Operate surveying instruments including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
• Collect accurate field data and document project deliverables.
• Assist the crew chief with project setup, data transfer, and equipment management.
