R. Joe Harris & Associates, Inc. is seeking an Instrument Operator to join our surveying team.

You will support field operations, assist with surveys, and help deliver accurate data for land development projects. You will operate total stations (including robotic), GPS receivers, and data collectors (Trimble, Carlson), collect field data, and document results for project deliverables. Qualifications

Basic understanding of land surveying principles.
Familiarity with GPS receivers, total stations, and robotic total stations.
Experience with Trimble and Carlson data collectors preferred.
Strong math skills.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with field surveys including topographic, boundary, location/design surveys, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
Operate surveying instruments including total stations, robotic total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors (Trimble, Carlson).
Collect accurate field data and ensure proper documentation for project deliverables.
Support the survey crew chief with project setup, data transfer, and equipment management.
