Job summary

Control Point Associates, a leading surveying firm, is seeking a Crew Chief in Virginia Beach, VA. You will supervise field crews, perform boundary and topographic surveys, and coordinate with clients to keep projects on schedule.

You’ll work with Trimble, Leica, and 3D laser scanners, handle data and calculations, and mentor junior staff. A strong leadership background and 5+ years in surveying are required, with travel among project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of surveying experience in a managerial role.
• High School Diploma required with strong math and technical skills.
• Expertise operating advanced surveying equipment and software.
• Proven ability to lead a team and work collaboratively.
• Willingness to obtain OSHA/Hazwoper/TWIC certifications.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel overnight.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead survey crews on field operations.
• Operate Trimble/Leica/Spectre robotic total stations and GPS RTK units.
• Perform field calculations and prepare sketches; ensure data accuracy.
• Maintain safety and equipment; ensure proper maintenance.
• Lead instrument operators and mentor crew members.
• Serve as on-site client contact and provide project updates.
• Handle other duties as required.
