Job summary

Synectics Inc. seeks a Survey Crew Chief to perform land surveying for distribution, gas, and electric projects. The role is field-based, requiring frequent travel to project sites and independent work with GPS, laser scanners, and Trimble equipment.

You will lead topographic and construction surveys, spending most days in the field and collaborating with cross-functional project teams while ensuring accuracy and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of land surveying experience, or 4–5 years with solid relevant background.
• Two-year Surveying Technology or Civil Engineering Technician background preferred but not required if experience is strong.
• Land surveying experience is essential.
• Proficiency with survey GPS equipment and laser scanners.
• Experience with Trimble survey equipment and data collectors.
• Strong technology and computer skills.
• Ability to travel frequently and work in field environments.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Survey Crew Chief performing land survey work for distribution, gas, electric transmission, and substation projects.
• Conduct topographic and construction surveys using GPS, laser scanners, and survey equipment across multiple locations.
• Travel to project sites; spend most time in the field with limited office time. Own field survey work.
• Field-based role with travel to active project sites and occasional overnight stays.
• Maintain safety practices while working outdoors and handling surveying equipment.
