Job summary

HireTalent is seeking an experienced Survey Technician III / Survey Crew Chief to perform land surveying activities supporting utility projects. This field-based role involves topographic and construction surveys across multiple sites, with independence and limited day-to-day supervision.

You will travel to project locations, operate GPS, laser scanners, Trimble gear, and survey data collectors, and coordinate field activities with the office survey team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of land surveying experience; ~10 years ideal.
• Hands-on field-based surveying experience.
• Proficiency with GPS surveying equipment.
• Experience using laser scanning technology.
• Experience with Trimble survey equipment and data collectors.
• Strong computer and technology skills.
• Ability to travel to project locations.
• Comfortable working outdoors and at active field sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead as Survey Crew Chief for assigned surveying tasks.
• Perform topographic, construction, and general land surveys.
• Support electric distribution, gas, transmission, and substations projects.
• Receive assignments from office survey team and coordinate field activities.
• Travel to multiple project sites and work in field environments.
• Operate GPS equipment, laser scanners, Trimble devices, and data collectors.
• Collect accurate field data and support deliverables.
