Job summary

California Closets is seeking a Field Support Technician to perform in-home measurements for custom cabinetry projects and provide outstanding customer service during site surveys. You will support the design team with precise data and ensure the project scope is accurately defined for installation.

The role requires CAD/ERP familiarity, 2+ years in construction or millwork, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction or millwork materials and hardware.
• Millwork estimating experience preferred.
• 1+ years in construction with cabinetry installation knowledge.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Tech savvy with CAD/ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Proficient in math including fractions and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-home site surveys to measure space for custom cabinetry.
• Coordinate with Designers to provide measurements, photos and data.
• Assist Design Consultant with files and samples for measuring.
• Conduct re-measurements for design changes when needed.
• Create CAD copies and indicate specs for design revisions.
• Review CAD drawings to identify installation challenges and scope.

Job Description

The core responsibility of the Field Support Technician is to conduct in-home customer visits for the purpose of measuring space and providing the job site survey for custom cabinetry while providing exceptional customer service.

***The pay for this opportunity is $28-$33/hr DOE***

***The typical work schedule will be Monday-Friday 6:30a-3p***

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assess design against on-site specifications and report any necessary design change requirements to team members (Designers, Manufacturing, Install Team)
• Coordinate with our Design Consultants to provide concise measurements, photographs and data for the purposes of sale & design of custom project.
• Assist Design Consultant to pick up files and samples (hardware/finish samples) from the office for the measure purposes, as needed
• Conduct a re-measurement of project re-designs, as needed
• Create copies of CAD design when jobsite errors are found and indicate specification detail to support the designer with the necessary information to complete design revisions if necessary.
• Review proposal (CAD drawings) specifications to determine the projects’ scope of work identify possible challenges in installation of the job.
• Perform job-site surveys and create job-site plans for the installation team and communicate installation direction and expectations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience construction, millwork industry related materials and hardware, and/or in the home renovations/improvement industry
• Millwork estimating experience preferred
• 1+ years of experience in the construction industry with knowledge of the installation practices for customized cabinetry solutions
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Tech savvy with the ability to quickly learn and apply various business systems (CAD, Epicor, Salesforce, Microsoft Office, etc.)
• Proficient in math (i.e Fractions and unit measurements)
• Ability to provide an exceptional client experience aligned to the company values
