Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support jobsite operations, safety, and project coordination on commercial HVAC and plumbing projects in the Blacksburg area.

The role involves leading field crews, maintaining schedules, tracking costs, and ensuring adherence to plans and safety standards. A minimum of 2+ years in commercial construction with OSHA 30 or safety focus is preferred.

Formación

• 2+ years of experience in commercial construction (HVAC/MEP preferred).
• Experience supporting crews and jobsite operations.
• Knowledge of scheduling, sequencing, and cost control.
• OSHA 30 preferred or demonstrated safety commitment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsabilidades

• Support daily jobsite operations focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Help develop and maintain project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines.
• Assist with manpower planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate projects from startup through closeout, including sequencing.
• Represent VMG in meetings with clients, general contractors, and partners.
• Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections.
• Enforce OSHA and VMG safety policies.
• Identify, report, and address hazards and near misses.
• Ensure work aligns with plans and quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
• Submit daily reports, time sheets, and logs accurately.
• Track costs, invoices, and subcontractor work.
• Maintain organized project documentation and schedules.
• Lead and coordinate field crews and subcontractors.
• Set clear expectations and provide coaching.
• Foster accountability and team culture.
