Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to manage field activities, ensure safety, and support project planning from preconstruction through execution on tilt-up industrial builds and related projects.

You will work with the Project Manager to develop schedules, oversee subcontractors, and coordinate trades, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of a project while growing with experienced professionals committed to your development.

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming completion of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered)
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
• Valid Drivers License

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning – Attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning before work begins
• Project Scheduling – Work with the Project Manager to develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs
• Field Leadership – Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications
• Subcontractor Coordination – Manage subcontractor activities, communicate schedule updates, and ensure work is properly coordinated across trades
