Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to help lead field operations on design/build projects. You will work with seasoned professionals to manage safety, scheduling, and coordination across trades, driving projects from planning through completion.

You will assist with preconstruction activities, daily site leadership, and communication with owners and design teams to ensure quality and on‑time delivery.

Qualifications

• Recent or soon‑to‑be graduate of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning – Attend post‑award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning before work begins.
• Project Scheduling – Develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs with the Project Manager.
• Field Leadership – Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and per specifications.
• Subcontractor Coordination – Manage subcontractor activities and communicate schedule updates across trades.
• Material & Equipment Management – Assist with deliveries, equipment coordination, shop drawing approvals, and submittals.
• Progress & Cost Tracking – Help prepare job progress reports and monitor project costs.
• Owner & Design Team Communication – Maintain regular communication with owners, architects, and project stakeholders.
• Jobsite Meetings – Lead coordination meetings with project managers, regional managers, subs, and team members.
• Documentation – Maintain daily reports and site records.
• Safety Leadership – Promote and enforce safety program at the jobsite.
• Team Collaboration – Align office and field operations to deliver projects.
