Ferretti Search is seeking a Field Superintendent - Commercial Electrical in the Greater Charlotte, NC region. This field-based role requires moving between multiple jobsites daily to lead field teams and ensure project plans stay on track.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in commercial electrical construction, a Journeyman license, OSHA 30, and Procore experience, with strong leadership and safety focus. Travel within ~90 minutes of Charlotte is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial electrical construction experience, including superintendent duties.
• Active Journeyman Electrician license (NC or SC) and OSHA 30-Hour certification.
• Hands-on Procore experience and proficiency with MS 365/Excel.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field operations on 10–20 active commercial projects in the greater Charlotte region.
• Roaming superintendent visiting 4–5 jobsites daily to monitor progress, quality, safety, and schedule.
• Lead site superintendents and foremen with direction and accountability.
• Set daily/weekly work plans with foremen to keep projects on schedule and budget.
• Provide input on manpower, scheduling, and material needs; represent the company at meetings.
• Enforce safety standards and OSHA compliance on every site and document activity in PM software.

Job description

Title: Field Superintendent - Commercial Electrical

Location: Greater Charlotte, NC region (field-based; jobsites within ~90 minutes of Charlotte)

Employment Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with extended hours as needed

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

Our client, an established commercial electrical contractor in the Charlotte area, is adding a newly created Field Superintendent position to oversee field operations across its commercial electrical projects. With roughly 25 active projects underway, this role will serve as the company's primary roving superintendent, moving between 4-5 jobsites each day to lead site superintendents and foremen, keep work plans on track, and represent the company in site and job meetings. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned commercial electrical superintendent who came up through the trade and wants a high-visibility leadership role in the field.

What you will do:

• Oversee field operations across approximately 10-20 active commercial electrical projects throughout the greater Charlotte region
• Serve as the primary roving superintendent, visiting 4-5 jobsites per day to monitor progress, quality, safety and schedule adherence
• Lead the site superintendents and foremen who report to this role, providing direction, support and accountability
• Set daily and weekly work plans with foremen to keep projects on schedule and on budget
• Provide input on manpower allocation, scheduling and material needs across projects
• Represent the company at site and job meetings with general contractors, owners and other trades
• Enforce safety standards and OSHA compliance on every jobsite
• Use project management software to track progress, document field activity and communicate with project management and office teams

What you will bring:

• 10+ years of commercial electrical construction experience, including time as a superintendent
• Prior experience as an electrical foreman
• Active Journeyman Electrician license (North Carolina or South Carolina)
• OSHA 30-Hour certification (required)
• Commercial electrical experience specifically
• Hands-on experience with Procore (required)
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including intermediate Excel skills
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Preferred:

• Experience with Trimble ProjectSight and/or Viewpoint Spectrum
• Experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects across a large geographic area
