Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Specialty Technician I to join our Baltimore team. The role involves field-based destructive and non-destructive testing, inspections of structural steel and connections, and data collection for testing projects in specialty construction materials testing.

Responsibilities include daily field reporting, coordination with project managers, and maintaining testing equipment. Requires 2 years of related experience, a HS diploma or GED, and two specialty certifications; OSHA

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Obtain two specialty certifications applicable to the work performed.
• OSHA 10 may be required.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Limited knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing methods.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and instructions.
• Proficiency with field reporting systems.
• Ability to calibrate NDT equipment (where applicable).
• Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Performs destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials.
• Inspects structural steel, reinforcing steel, and connections.
• Conducts field observations and collects samples for testing.
• Documents findings in accordance with standards.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changes in site conditions and additional testing needs.
• Performs inspections in fabrication facilities when required.
• Prepares and submits daily field reports and documentation.
• Performs basic calculations and data reduction tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field testing equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Attends project meetings as requested.
• Performs other specialty testing and inspection duties as assigned.
