Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Baltimore is hiring a Specialty Technician I to support field-based destructive and non-destructive testing, inspection, and observations on construction materials testing projects.

You will perform testing on structural steel, reinforcing steel, and connections, document findings to engineering standards, and communicate daily with contractors and project managers while building technical competency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Obtain two specialty certifications applicable to the work performed.
• A valid driver's license if driving for ECS.

Responsibilities

• Performs destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials.
• Conducts inspections of structural steel, reinforcing steel, and connections (welded and bolted).
• Performs field observations and inspections and collects samples for testing.
• Documents findings in accordance with engineering and inspection standards.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changes in site conditions and additional testing needs.
• Prepares and submits daily field reports and documentation.
• Performs basic calculations and data reduction tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field testing equipment.
