Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking Building Science + Infrastructure Technicians to perform field tests and observations on projects. You will work in the field, often outdoors, and gain progressive exposure to building science, infrastructure testing, and reporting.

Expect collaboration with project teams and periodic meetings with clients and senior staff. The role emphasizes safety, physical readiness to lift 40 pounds, and accurate documentation of results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or technical degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering or a related field preferred.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Professional certifications are preferred but not required, including NRCA, IIBEC, AWCI Certified EIFS Inspector and/or relevant ICC certifications
• If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds multiple times per day, stand for extended periods, walk on uneven ground through various terrains, and have the ability to perform work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Testing and observations for new construction or the built environment, specialized testing, building enclosure consulting, forensic investigation, and other building science & infrastructure related services.
• Perform field and laboratory testing and observations.
• Progressive learning about testing and observations of various systems while working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Daily communication with ECS technicians, project managers, principals, clients and other site representatives.
• Attend project meetings with ECS senior staff and/or clients as requested.
• Document test results and observations in reports appropriately.
• Learn to calibrate and use field equipment and maintain equipment.
• Incidental duties may include office clerical tasks and report production assistance.
• Other duties as requested.
