Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Building Science + Infrastructure Technician to perform field and laboratory tests, observations, and reporting on construction projects. The role involves indoor and outdoor work, coordinating with project teams, and supporting field equipment maintenance.

You will participate in a growing team delivering building science + infrastructure consulting services, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and client communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate/technical degree preferred.
• 0–2 years of related experience.
• Certifications (NRCA, IIBEC, AWCI EIFS Inspector, ICC) preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Must lift up to 40 lb and work at heights or uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

• Observe and perform routine field tests and observations on projects.
• Test and observe for new construction, building enclosure, forensic investigations, and related services.
• Perform field and laboratory testing and observations.
• Communicate with technicians, project managers, principals, clients, and site reps daily.
• Attend project meetings with ECS staff or clients as requested.
• Document test results and observations in reports.
• Calibrate and use field equipment; maintain equipment; notify supervisor of issues.
• Incidental duties may include clerical tasks or report production.

Education
