Job summary

The City of Greensboro is seeking a Stormwater Monitoring Technician to protect local waterways and support pollution prevention. You will perform field sampling, data analysis, and reporting, contributing to environmental health and regulatory compliance for Greensboro’s water resources.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field, 1+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; related field preferred.
• Experience in Pollution Prevention, Water Quality monitoring, or Stormwater Management considered an asset.
• Proficient with MS Office and basic data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze water quality data from streams and stormwater systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of stormwater control measures (SCMs).
• Investigate pollution complaints and spills; assist with regulatory reporting.
• Identify illicit discharges and connections to the storm sewer system.
• Maintain sampling equipment and prepare technical monitoring reports.
