Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Field Welder/SMAW Welder for a contract-to-hire role in Ramsey, MN. You will perform structural welding using SMAW and install columns, beams, joists, decking and other structural components on active construction sites, with travel between local project sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structural steel welding experience.
• AWS D1.1 certification preferred.
• Strong SMAW (Stick) welding skills.
• Experience with structural steel erection and installation.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding using SMAW with 7018 rod.
• Weld and install columns, beams, joists, decking, and structural components.
• Install handrails, stairs, guardrails, and miscellaneous metals.
• Read blueprints and structural drawings.
• Assist with rigging, signaling, and steel placement.
• Operate aerial lifts and jobsite equipment as needed.
• Work safely at heights and on active construction sites.
• Travel locally between project sites.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ramsey, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
