Job description

Job Title: Director of Sales Engineering - East

Location: Need to live in the Central US Region

Overall Responsibility:

Support a queue of complex sales opportunities requiring sales engineering expertise. Act as an engineer on behalf of our Technology Advisors (TAs), supporting complex sales processes remotely and sometimes in person. Track, report on, and manage your opportunity funnel to drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive revenue growth by improving TA performance and expanding opportunities.
  2. Maintain positive relationships with all TAs.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with regional supplier contacts.
  4. Log and communicate opportunities for follow-up.
  5. Identify regional TA training needs and schedule accordingly.
  6. Stay updated on emerging provider products/services and train accordingly.
  7. Train new hires on specific technologies.
  8. Identify and discuss potential opportunities across the technology spectrum: Security, CX, Cloud, Network, Mobility, AI, IoT.
  9. Lead discovery calls and uncover opportunities.
  10. Prepare and deliver technical presentations.

  • Supplier Engineers
  • Telarus Field Support Managers
  • Other Telarus Engineers
  • Telarus Technology Advisors
  • All levels of management

Qualifications:

  • Effective communication and listening skills.
  • Dynamic presenter with the ability to ask probing questions.
  • Positive attitude and drive for growth.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and address issues.
  • Critical thinking skills for problem-solving.
  • Uphold ethics and honesty.
  • Achieve one industry certification per year.
  • Experience across multiple technology verticals (Security, CX, Cloud, Network, Mobility, AI, IoT).
  • Ability to travel as needed.
