Overview
Pyramid Systems is seeking experienced an experienced Cloud Solution Engineer (Software Engineering/DevOps) to join an Enterprise Engineering and Integration Services Integrated Product Team (IPT) that provides Cloud Enterprise Engineering Integration Services support to a key defense agency client. This team focuses on mission area portfolios with the goal of establishing initial operating capabilities in one or more commercial clouds and software as a service (SaaS) in a commercial cloud environment for Business Process Management Software.
This role is eligible for remote work.
Responsibilities
Gathers requirements and designs Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud-based system deployments and system transitions.
- Architect and plan migrations to commercial cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Office 365, Google Cloud Platform, or similar cloud platforms.
- Work with end users and application experts to elicit requirements for designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems in cloud-based environments
- Lift and shift planning for an existing on-premises application to cloud based systems
- Ingress and egress planning for data migration to and from cloud-based systems
- Selecting the appropriate cloud service based on data, compute, database, or security requirements
- Integration with on-premises enterprise networks and systems
- Identifying appropriate use of cloud architectural best practices
- Estimating cloud costs and identifying cost control mechanisms
- Providing technical clarity and direction to Cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Consultants
Qualifications
- MUST HAVE SECERT CLEARANCE
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area.
- Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
Education and Certification Requirments
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)
- Possess Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum
