Job summary

Clean Harbors in San Jose, CA is seeking a Field Services Technician I to join our safety conscious team. This role works in the field performing tasks related to hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

You will operate light and heavy equipment, use PPE, perform physically demanding work in various environments, participate in field sampling and assist in emergency response on a rotating on-call basis.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform physical functions per Key Responsibilities.
• On-call emergency response availability; weekends/holidays may be required.
• Background check, drug test, and physical per position.
• OSHA respirator facial hair standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies and procedures.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use various hand tools and PPE.
• Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Assist in field sampling activities and calibration of meters.
• Climb ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks and containers.
• Be on call for emergency response on rotating basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
