Job summary

Innovate is seeking a field-based technician to serve as the premier authority on-site, traveling across the Greater Philadelphia/NJ/DE/MD corridors to troubleshoot and maintain critical industrial systems.

You will diagnose 3-phase electrical faults, program VSDs, and interpret PLC/relay logic while reading complex schematics and wiring diagrams. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years blended mechanical and industrial electrical experience.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of 3-phase power, motor starters, breakers, and conduit installation.
• Ability to quickly read and diagnose faults from schematics and pneumatic/hydraulic blueprints.
• Prior experience with compressed air systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot critical systems across factories, laboratories, and refineries along NJ, PA, DE, and MD corridors.
• Diagnose faults in 3-phase power, motors, breakers, and conduit installations.
• Read ladder logic and interpret industrial control boards to fix automation issues.
• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and program Variable Speed Drives (AC/DC).
• Read wiring, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and work with sensors and transducers.
• Perform high-level installations, millwright tasks, and preventative maintenance to keep client operations running smoothly.

What You Will Actually Do

You will be the premier technical authority on the road, troubleshooting critical systems across factories, laboratories, and major industrial refineries throughout the NJ, PA, DE, and MD corridors.

• Diagnose complex faults in 3-phase electric systems, drive motors, transformers, and circuit protections.
• Navigate industrial control boards and interpret Ladder Logic (PLC/Relay systems) to fix systemic automation issues.
• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and program Variable Speed Drives (AC/DC).
• Read complex wiring, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams while working directly with feedback devices like transducers, temperature probes, and phase monitors.
• Perform high-level installations, millwright tasks, and general preventative maintenance to keep critical client operations running flawlessly.
