Asplundh Power Company seeks a Field Service Test Technician II to perform substation testing in the United States. The role emphasizes safety-first field work, transformer and circuit breaker testing, and adherence to procedures in dynamic outdoor environments.

The candidate will read electrical diagrams, assist with grounding, and set up testing equipment, contributing to a disciplined safety culture and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; supplemental electrical maintenance courses are a plus.
• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Able to travel regularly—up to 75% domestically and occasional international travel.
• Able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 50 lbs and pass a fit-for-duty exam.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic tests on transformers and circuit breakers, including insulation resistance and oil sampling.
• Read and interpret drawings and diagrams of electrical systems.
• Assist with grounding, clearance, LOTO, and safety protocols.
• Set up testing equipment and participate in safety trainings and programs.
• Lead in safety culture and ensure adherence to PPE and company policies.
