Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Field Service Technician to support the AC-130 gunship at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. The role involves on-site installation, testing, and repair of complex equipment, while interfacing with the Air Force squadron to resolve problems and provide training.

Requirements include a high school diploma with 4 years of aircraft maintenance, Air Force mechanic experience, interim secret clearance with sponsorship to secret clearance, U.S.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• Experience as an Air Force Mechanic focusing on engine maintenance and production processes.
• Interim secret clearance to start; ability to obtain secret clearance; SAIC will sponsor.
• U.S. citizen.
• Public speaking skills and ability to deliver presentations.
• Experience with maintenance data collection systems.
• Proactive in researching directives, regulations and policies.
• Commitment to customer service and problem solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and learning company software.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with the customer to handle service inquiries and problems including installation, modification, and repair of equipment.
• Conducts on-site installation and testing to ensure proper operation; isolates start-up malfunctions and takes corrective action.
• Makes technical presentations and trains customer personnel in operation and maintenance responsibilities.
• Provides technical support for weapons systems in field service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and training for the Air Force squadron at Cannon AFB.
• Provides on-site technical support for weapons and equipment used by the squadron.
• Acts as liaison between the squadron and Small Arms Branch at NSWC Crane, IN for issues related to weapons systems.
