Job summary

SAIC is looking for a Weapons Maintenance Technician to support the AC-130 gunship located at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on installation, testing, and repair of complex equipment for the Air Force squadron.

Required are a high school diploma with 4 years of aircraft maintenance, Air Force mechanic background in engines, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Expect rotating shifts and up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• Experience as an Air Force Mechanic with a focus on engine maintenance and production.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim secret needed to start.
• U.S. citizen.
• Public speaking skills and ability to deliver presentations to groups.
• Experience with maintenance data collection systems.
• Motivation to research directives, regulations and policies to solve problems.
• Commitment to customer service and proactive policy implementation.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with the customer to handle service inquiries and problems, including installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• Conducts on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order; isolates start-up malfunctions and takes corrective action.
• Trains customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities.
• Provides technical support for the 30mm and 105mm weapons systems for Cannon AFB, including field service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and training.
• Provides on-site technical support for weapons and equipment used by the squadron.
• Acts as liaison between the squadron and Naval Surface Warfare Center for technical issues related to the weapons systems.
