Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Field Service Technician to support the AC-130 gunship at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. The role involves on-site installation, testing, and repair of complex equipment and systems, with travel up to 25%.

The ideal candidate has Air Force mechanic experience focused on engines, holds an interim secret clearance with the ability to obtain a secret clearance, and strong customer-service skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products and data systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of maintenance experience.
• Experience as an Air Force Mechanic focused on engine maintenance and production processes.
• Interim secret clearance with ability to obtain secret; SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with the customer to handle service inquiries and problems, including installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• On-site installation and testing of equipment; isolates start-up malfunctions and takes corrective action.
• Trains customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities.
• Provides technical support for weapons systems and equipment to the Air Force squadron.
• Acts as liaison between the squadron and Small Arms Branch for technical issues.
