Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Weapons Maintenance Technician to support the AC-130 gunship at Cannon AFB in New Mexico. The role will require on-site installation, testing, and repair of complex weapon systems, with direct interaction with Air Force personnel.

Candidates must have a high school diploma with at least 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; 4+ years of preventative and corrective aircraft maintenance experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance ( Interim secret to start ).
• Experience as an Air Force Mechanic with focus on engine maintenance and production processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and able to learn company software.
• Strong public speaking skills and ability to deliver presentations to groups.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with the customer to handle service inquiries and problems, including installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• Conducts on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order; isolates startup malfunctions and takes corrective action.
• Provides technical support for weapon systems in field service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and training to the Air Force squadron at Cannon AFB.
• Acts as liaison between the squadron and the Naval Surface Warfare Center for technical issues related to the 30mm and 105mm weapons systems.
• Provides on-site technical support for weapons and associated equipment used by the squadron.
