Job summary

WASH in Austin, TX is seeking a Service Technician to perform field repairs on coin-operated washers and dryers at customer locations within the assigned region. You will rely on your strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to keep machines running and customers satisfied.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of mechanical experience and electrical knowledge and/or training.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and occasionally move 200 pounds with a dolly.
• Prior washer/dryer repair experience is desirable.
• Good driving record and strong customer service skills.
• Effective English communication (oral and written); bilingual English/Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performs field service to test and repair malfunctioning washers and dryers.
• Uses test equipment to determine condition of machines.
• Examines machines during operating cycles for vibration, overheating, leaks, and loose parts.
• Disassembles machines to inspect mechanical and electrical parts.
• Replaces worn or defective parts such as switches, pumps, belts, and wiring.
• Replaces and adjusts motors.
• Drives a company vehicle to and from work locations.
• Maintains vehicle and keeps it clean.
• Maintains stock of replacement parts for servicing coin operated washers and dryers.
• Contacts apartment managers and customers to ensure good customer relations.
