Responsibilities

  • Perform field service to test and repair malfunctioning washers and dryers.
  • Use test equipment to determine machine condition.
  • Examine machines during operating cycles to detect issues like vibration, overheating, leaks, and loose parts.
  • Disassemble machines and inspect mechanical and electrical components.
  • Replace worn or defective parts (switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, wiring).
  • Replace and adjust motors; reassemble appliances and lubricate moving parts.
  • Advise dispatch on equipment replacements.
  • Operate a company vehicle to travel to locations; maintain vehicle cleanliness and fluids.
  • Maintain stock of replacement parts for servicing coin-operated units.
  • Communicate with apartment managers and customers to ensure good relations.

Overview

WASH provides field service for washers and dryers across the USA and Canada. We focus on customer care, quality service, and a high-performance, innovative environment. This role is for a Service Technician who performs mechanical repairs to washers and dryers at customer locations within an assigned region. The position ideally suits someone who works independently and has strong mechanical aptitude.

What you’ll do
  • Perform field service to test and repair malfunctioning washers and dryers.
  • Use test equipment to determine machine condition.
  • Examine machines during operating cycles to detect issues such as excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts.
  • Disassemble machines and examine mechanical and electrical components.
  • Replace worn or defective parts (e.g., switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, wiring).
  • Replace and adjust motors; reassemble appliances, adjust pulleys, and lubricate moving parts.
  • Advise dispatch of field equipment that should be replaced.
  • Operate a company vehicle to travel to work locations; maintain vehicle cleanliness and fluid levels.
  • Maintain stocks of replacement parts for servicing coin-operated washers and dryers.
  • Communicate with apartment managers and customers to ensure good customer relations.
What we’re looking for

  • Effective English communication skills (oral and written); bilingual English/Spanish is desirable.
  • At least 2 years of mechanical experience and electrical knowledge/training.

  • Prior washer/dryer repair experience is desirable.
