Job summary

Purple Drive is hiring Field Service Technicians for our Fortune 500 client in Des Moines, IA. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, PDUs, and battery systems at customer sites.

Travel to sites is required, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training provided; prior UPS experience not required for this location. Strong electrical fundamentals and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are expected.

Qualifications

• High school or vocational education required.
• 0–2 years of relevant industry experience.
• 2–4 years of military experience in a related technical field encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and break-fix repairs at customer sites according to training and procedures.
• Use multimeters and electrical test equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues.
• Follow electrical safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and PPE requirements.
• Read and follow technical manuals, service instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Provide on-site and telephone assistance to customers.
• Travel to customer sites is required; work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
