Job summary

The George E. Booth Co. is a family-owned industrial automation sales company seeking a full-time Field Service Technician to service customers in Central Illinois and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial process control instrumentation, gas detection and valves, and be willing to travel with occasional overnights. Strong communication skills and a technical background are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel with occasional overnights (50%) and have a clean driving record.
• Minimum 3 years' related experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Associate degree in technical field or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Start-up new units, troubleshoot, calibrate, repair and maintain instrumentation, gas detection and valves.
• Diagnose root causes and develop permanent solutions for customers.
• Read and interpret technical documentation and prepare summaries for customers and teammates.
• Travel to customer sites, possibly overnight, and work independently or in a team.
