Job summary

The George E. Booth Co. is seeking a full-time Technical Sales Engineer to join our Romeoville, Illinois team. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, quoting, and order processing while interfacing with internal departments to ensure satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have a technical degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and at least 2 years in a technical field with customer service. Occasional local travel and on-site customer interactions are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent work experience.
Attention to detail, organization skills and ability to work independently or with a team.
Results-driven personality a plus.
Strong communication skills using moderately complex terminology.
Willingness to travel locally with occasional overnights.
Minimum 2 years' experience in technical field with customer service or similar.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with selection of products based on project needs and prepare quotations.
Comprehensive understanding of technical products (pressure, flow, resistance, etc.).
Troubleshoot customer issues and analyze/resolve problems.
Enter orders into ERP and Salesforce to support the Technical Sales team.
Document quotations and follow-up in Salesforce/ERP.
Process all orders through GEBCO ERP system.
Make day-to-day pricing decisions within established parameters.
Coordinate with outside sales to develop accounts within the territory.
Occasional on-site customer interactions may be required.
