Job summary

Power Electronics USA Inc. in Flint, MI is seeking a Field Service Technician to support solar and battery inverter systems across the United States. You will lead start-up/commissioning, diagnose faults, replace critical components, and perform preventive maintenance.

Requires Journeyman/Master Electrician license or electrical engineering degree, 2–3 years field service experience, and a valid driver’s license. Travel nationwide and strict safety adherence are essential.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or Master Electrician license or electrical engineering degree.
• Experience with field service and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software updates.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and commissioning of solar inverters at photovoltaic plants.
• Diagnose and repair inverter faults in the field.
• Replace components such as MV transformers, switchgear, boards, fuses, fans, and filters.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and updates (software/hardware).
• Submit accurate daily field reports detailing work performed and time spent.
• Provide technical assistance and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Travel across the U.S. and be available for emergency 24/7 service when needed.
