Job summary

Premier Tech is seeking a Field Service Technician to service, maintain, and upgrade automation and packaging equipment. The role emphasizes customer advisory, audits, safety plans, retrofits, and training recommendations to optimize performance.

You will travel to customer sites up to 75% and may work long shifts as required to meet client objectives. Strong electromechanical skills and PLC familiarity are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical, electrical or automation.
• Experience as field service technician with electromechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment.
• Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic schematics.
• PLC troubleshooting experience, basic programming.
• High safety proficiency and travel readiness.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage uptime by addressing customer challenges.
• Advise and train customers on equipment operation.
• Interpret customer operations and translate into action plans.
• Foster positive relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Report daily activities, coordinate travel, submit timesheets and expenses on time.
• Provide technical phone support and assist colleagues.
• Maintain availability for management and customer communications.
• Promote services, parts, retrofits and training to meet customer goals.
• Audit equipment and recommend uptime improvements.
• Test equipment to ensure safety compliance.
• Promote health and safety to mitigate risks.
• Adapt to travel schedule with a minimum of 75% travel.
• Work up to 12 hours per day, including nights or weekends as needed.
