Job summary

Hiab USA is seeking a field service professional to perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, upgrades, and refurbishment on equipment at Hiab locations and customer sites in the Raleigh area. The role requires traveling 100% of the time in NC and adherence to Hiab standards.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, on-site service, and customer liaison to ensure satisfaction while maintaining documentation and ongoing technical training.

Qualifications

• DOT Medical Card (1 year) is required.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two in two years. All violations reviewed.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations.
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Own tools required.
• 100% travel required.

• Inspect, service, troubleshoot and refurbish equipment (Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders, Hoists) per Manager instructions.
• Follow safety rules and environmental requirements.
• Stay updated with technical developments and complete courses as instructed.
• Respond to customer queries to maximize satisfaction and follow Hiab guidelines.
• Keep records, maintain documentation and submit daily reports as required.
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate with District Service Manager.
• Coach junior colleagues and trainees as needed.
• Maintain a positive image of HIAB brand and follow Quality System rules.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at external or Hiab locations in line with Managers instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

The Hiab facility is located in Cornelius, NC, however all field service work will be conducted in the Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders and Hoists in line with Managers instructions
• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager
• Respond to customers queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction and follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
• Keep adequate records, maintain documentation and submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System

What we are looking for

• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position
