Job summary

Hiab USA is seeking a skilled field service technician to perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, and refurbishments on forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders and related equipment in the Raleigh area. The role requires 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel 100%.

A DOT medical card is required for this position, and the company offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Stay current with technical bulletins and complete required courses.
• Respond to customer queries to maximize satisfaction and follow guidelines.
• Keep records and submit daily reports as instructed.
• Identify sales opportunities and communicate to management.
• Coach junior colleagues and trainees as needed.
• Maintain professional image of the Hiab brand and follow quality rules.

Salary ranges from $35.90-$41.75 per hour based on skills and experience.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at external or Hiab locations in line with Manager's instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

The Hiab facility is located in Cornelius, NC, however all field service work will be conducted in the Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists in line with Manager's instructions
• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager
• Respond to customer's queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction & follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
• Keep adequate records, maintain documentation & submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System

What we are looking for

• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position
• Valid Driver's License is required
  • No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two violations within a two year time frame. All violations will be reviewed
• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Own tools required
• Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
• This position requires 100% travel
