Job summary

Hiab USA is seeking a skilled field service technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on material handling equipment at customer sites in the Levittown area.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, maintain service records, and ensure safety compliance. A valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a DOT medical card are required; minimum 5 years of experience. We offer benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, troubleshoot and refurbish equipment (Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders and Hoists) per Manager's instructions.
• Follow safety rules, working practices and environmental requirements.
• Maintain documentation and submit daily reports as required by District Service Manager.
• Identify sales opportunities and communicate with District Service Manager.
• Coach junior colleagues and trainees when needed.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at external or Hiab locations in line with Manager's instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists in line with Manager's instructions


• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements


• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager


• Respond to customer's queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction & follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines


• Keep adequate records, maintain documentation & submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager


• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager


• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary


• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System

What we are looking for

• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position


• Valid Driver's License is required


• No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two violations within a two year time frame. All violations will be reviewed


• High School diploma or equivalent is required


• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations


• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills


• Own tools required


• Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
