Job summary

HIAB USA is seeking a seasoned service technician to perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, upgrades and refurbishment on Hiab equipment at external and company locations. You will work under the District Service Manager’s guidance to strengthen productive customer relationships.

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience, a valid driver's license with a clean record, and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations experience.
• Strong diagnostic & troubleshooting skills.
• Own tools required.
• Must know and comply with Hiab USA procedures and workplace instructions.
• DOT Medical Card within 1 year and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, upgrades and refurbishment on forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, liftgates, hooklifts, skiploaders and hoists as directed.
• Follow safety rules, working practices and environmental requirements.
• Stay updated with technical developments via internal service bulletins and courses.
• Respond to customer inquiries to maximize satisfaction per Hiab guidelines.
• Keep records and submit daily reports in the format required by the District Service Manager.
• Identify sales opportunities and report to the District Service Manager.
• Coach junior colleagues and trainees as needed.
• Represent the Hiab brand in line with the Quality System.

Compensation Data

Salary ranges from $35.90-$41.75 per hour based on skills and experience.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at external or Hiab locations in line with Manager’s instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists in line with Manager’s instructions
• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager
• Respond to customer’s queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction & follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
• Keep adequate records, maintain documentation & submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System

What we are looking for

• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position
• Valid Driver’s License is required
  • No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two violations within a two year time frame. All violations will be reviewed
• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Own tools required
• Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
