Job summary

IKA Works, Inc in Wilmington, NC seeks a Service Technician to repair, maintain and assemble process trial fleet machines and related equipment both inhouse and at customer sites.

You will perform field testing, organize pilot plant operations, provide technical start-up support and training, and develop knowledge of mechanical, electrical and laboratory processes while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technology-related field.
• Minimum two years in assembly, auto mechanics, or service-related field.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with basic chemistry knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Office; SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to read installation and assembly drawings and identify spare parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing, machine setup, testing, cleaning, and waste disposal.
• Maintain and organize all trial fleet machines and equipment.
• Assemble, test, and evaluate trial units.
• Prepare detailed reports on evaluations of machines and parts.
• Assist with customer repairs and spare parts selection.
• Organize and maintain the pilot plant to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Provide technical start-up support and training for field trials at customer facilities.
• Continuously develop knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and related laboratory equipment.
• Support the Service and Assembly Departments as required.
• Utilize analytical measurement equipment including particle size analyzers, viscometers, and microscopes.
