Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker invites applications for a Field Service Technician position in Charleston, MA. You will troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair the regional rental fleet and customer equipment on-site while assisting customers and sales representatives with technical problems.

You will also perform in-house demonstrations, weld samples for sales, and support field operations including boiler outage service, cycle counts, shipping/receiving, and deliveries.

Qualifications

• AA or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to calculate discounts, interest, proportions, and volume.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair the regional rental fleet, including stud welding systems, power sources, and field diesel vehicles.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair customer equipment.
• Assist customers in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems.
• Assist sales representatives in person and via the telephone with equipment, accessory, and technical problems.
• Perform in-house demonstrations for customers.
• Weld samples for sales representatives and customers.
• Perform as a boiler outage service technician as required.
• Perform cycle counts as directed.
• Perform shipping and receiving responsibilities when required.
• Complete company deliveries to various customer/warehouse locations as needed.
• Occasionally perform general building maintenance.
