Qualifications

Job description

joimax Inc. has an opening for an experienced FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN. This is a full-time position based onsite at our Irvine office.

The start date for this position is June 1st. It requires 50-70% travel within the US, including overnight and multi-day trips.

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing surgery devices and equipment. All repairs must adhere to high standards of quality and safety, following established procedures and manuals. The role involves working closely with Operations, Warehouse & Logistics, and Customer Service departments to coordinate and execute service activities.

Travel is required throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico and Mexico, with 50-70% travel time.

Minimum Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Travel to customer locations for equipment inspections, installations, maintenance, and training.
  2. Document all field activities accurately and timely, including expenses.
  3. Coordinate with supervisors for scheduling calibrations and preventive maintenance, with flexibility in schedule.
  4. Build and maintain excellent customer relationships, providing technical support and ensuring scheduled maintenance.
  5. Test and verify product functions and measurements according to specifications.
  6. Troubleshoot, repair, disassemble, and replace defective parts and components.
  7. Generate and file test and validation reports as per procedures.
  8. Handle customer returns and investigate warranty issues.
  9. Record findings and provide analysis as needed.
  10. Contribute to quality analysis, process improvements, and product evaluations.
  11. Assist in inventory management for repair supplies and monitor stock levels.
  12. Maintain department and equipment following 6S lean principles.
  13. Support warehouse activities like picking, packing, shipping, and receiving.
  14. Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  15. Provide support to other departments as required.
Minimum Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of recent experience as a mechanic, technician, or in a similar engineering role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanics, electronics, or engineering.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, PCP, voltage meters, etc.
  • Some experience in quality control or technical fields.
  • Preferably experience in the medical device industry and field service work.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Effective multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and flexibility.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory software (ERP).
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule and travel as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and move freely within the facility, including stairs and tight spaces.
